From the CEO's Desk: The 3 P's to How I Overcome Entrepreneur Fatigue
How do you push through the moments when things get tough as an entrepreneur?
I confront my inner thoughts by meditating on my purpose and calling. I remind myself of the 3 P's that should drive life: Purpose, Patience, and Productivity.
When you are patient and think carefully through the process, you will find your purpose. As a globalist and travel ambassador, I ask myself, "What change am I making in the industry?" I know that I am made to change the game. So, I cast the vision for our company: we seek to execute events that raise the standard of excellence and deliver top-tier service for all event stakeholders. We work to understand the challenges our partners face and strive to eliminate them. Long-lasting change does not happen overnight, which is where patience comes in. Over time, hotels recognize the value in our company's approach and say, "Gee, you are right! Why weren't we doing this sooner?!"
Once you have discerned your purpose, you become more focused in your efforts, leading to increased productivity. Streamlining your efforts removes distractions that can pull energy and personnel away from the tasks that truly matter.
Entrepreneurship is rewarding, but it also comes with its own mental gymnastics. The key to pushing through the challenges is to acknowledge and validate your feelings about the current circumstances. Next, remind yourself of this important rule:
"Feelings do not supersede the mission."
This is why knowing your purpose is at the center of the process.
There will always be rough patches throughout life. Focus on smoothing what is right in front of you, rather than the entire playing field at once.
Destination: Los Cabos
Affectionately known as the place "where the desert and mountains meet the sea," Los Cabos is located on the tip of the Baja Peninsula on Mexico's west coast.
Los Cabos, which means "The Capes," consists of two neighboring towns: San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. A 20-minute corridor of hotels and immaculate oceanside views connects the two sister cities.
Having had humble beginnings as a remote coastal town, Los Cabos has since risen to become a globally recognized gem of luxury destinations.
Known as the Marlin Capital, Los Cabos is a bustling fishing destination, which explains its abundance of fresh, farm-to-table seafood.
Getting to Los Cabos
Los Cabos attracts millions of visitors each year. This destination sees many tourists from North America come for vacations, weddings, company incentives, and more.
Los Cabos is about a 3-hour trip from major U.S. cities, whether by land or air. Flight times are short, with direct connectivity from cities in the U.S., Canada, and Germany (learn more on flight connectivity in Los Cabos). For transportation around town, we recommend rideshare services like Uber or one of the area's many chauffeur services.
Why Los Cabos Is Worth the Investment
Though Los Cabos hosts over 80 resorts and properties accommodating a range of travelers, it is best suited as a destination for premium experiences at ultra-luxury properties rather than the traditional, family-friendly vacation. It offers a selection of activities and adult nightlife unique to the destination.
Due to strong currents from the colliding Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortés, some beaches are notably unswimmable. Nonetheless, there are still plenty of activities to enjoy on the water. Medano Beach, located in Cabo San Lucas, is among Los Cabos' most popular swimmable beaches. This beach draws visitors for aquatic adventures such as snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboating, jet-skiing, yacht tours, and of course, swimming.
For nature lovers, the terrain offers an alluring mix of desert and tropical landscapes. A short drive from Los Cabos, the towns of La Paz and Todos Santos offer more remotely located resort options that take you into the wild. These resorts offer miles of secluded beaches for an experience removed from the typical, never-ending energy of Los Cabos.
Couples can live out their fairytale wedding by getting married in one of the area's historic churches, or they can be the stars of their own TV-worthy wedding with a more contemporary, chic setting in a resort's ballroom or event space.
Budget-wise, couples should expect to plan a bigger budget for a wedding in Los Cabos than in Cancún. Beyond the price tag of booking a tropical paradise venue, couples should remember that they are investing in top-quality service for an experience that will suit them and leave wedding guests with lasting memories of their one-of-a-kind celebration.
